Al-Azhar Calls for Support of the Egyptian and Arab Position in Gaza’s Reconstruction and Urges Full Commitment to the Ceasefire Agreement

Al-Azhar: The Palestinian People Have Sovereignty Over Their Decisions, and No One Has the Right to Force Them to Accept Displacement Proposals

Al-Azhar: The Whole World Must Respect the Right of Palestinians to Live on their Land and Establish their State with Al-Quds Ash-Sharif as its capital

Al-Azhar ash-Sharif supports the Egyptian and Arab position in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, provided that the Palestinian people remain on their land. It also calls for exerting maximum pressure to implement the agreement to end aggression against Gaza and urges world leaders to exercise wisdom in their statements regarding national sovereignty. Furthermore, al-Azhar stresses that no one has the right to force the Palestinian people to accept unworkable proposals. The international community must respect the Palestinians’ right to live on their land and establish their independent state, with al-Quds ash-Sharif as its capital.

Furthermore, al-Azhar calls on Arab and Muslim leaders, honorable and wise individuals worldwide, guardians of justice, and all people of conscience to reject displacement plans that seek to erase the Palestinian cause by forcibly uprooting Palestinians from their homeland. These plans aim to strip them of the land where they have lived for thousands of years, disregarding both the sanctity of the homeland and the deep-rooted connection between people and their land. Al-Azhar also warns that the international community’s failure to support the oppressed and persecuted will drive the world—from east to west—toward instability, turning it into a lawless jungle where the strong devour the rights of the weak and vulnerable.

Moreover, al-Azhar calls on religious institutions worldwide to raise the voice of faith in defense of the vulnerable in Palestine. It warns that silencing this global voice is a grave responsibility before Allah Almighty, for which we will all be held accountable. The core message of all divine religions is to support and protect the weak. Likewise, al-Azhar affirms that all religions reject the forced expulsion of Palestinians from their land and their displacement in favor of others. We live in a world that is meant to be governed by international laws and norms, yet what is happening today in Palestine sets a dangerous precedent, dragging humanity back to the darkness of prehistoric times.
