Al-Azhar Graduates Condemns the Terrorist Bombings in Southern Afghanistan
It asserts: Islam threatens those who attack innocent people with the severest punishment
The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates condemned the terrorist bombings that took place in Helmand Province in Afghanistan, killing 6 civilians and injuring 2 others.
The Organization said in a statement that shedding the blood of innocent people is one of the grievous sins that necessitates hatred of Allah; and Islam protects the lives of all people, as Allah said in the Holy Quran: “And slay not the soul God has forbidden, except by right.” [Q. 6: 151].
The statement pointed out that killing people is one of the grievous sins; as Allah said in the Holy Quran: “Whoso slayeth a believer of set purpose, his reward is hell forever. Allah is wroth against him and He hath cursed him and prepared for him an awful doom.”[Q. 4: 93]. Also, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said: “Avoid the seven destructive things.” It was asked: “What are they, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “Associating anyone or anything with Allah in worship; practicing sorcery, killing of someone without a just cause whom Allah has forbidden, devouring the property of an orphan, eating of usury, fleeing from the battlefield and slandering chaste women who never even think of anything touching chastity and are good believers.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
At the end of the statement, the Organization extended its condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, praying to spare the whole world the flames of intolerance, extremism, and terrorism.
