Al-Azhar Graduates Condemns the Stabbing Incident in Scotland


It asserts: Assassination and Terrorizing Peaceful People are Grievous Sins that Forbidden by Islam

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates condemned the stabbing incident that took place in Glasgow, the most populous city in Scotland. As a man carrying a knife attacked and stabbed a policeman, and injured some people with serious injuries, prompting the authorities to impose a security cordon in the city center.
The Organization said in a statement The Organization stressed that targeting the places of worship and killing innocent people are sinful criminal acts that contradict the teachings of Islam and the teachings of all religions as well. Allah Almighty said: “Whoever slays a soul for other than a soul, or for corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether.” [Q. 5: 32].
The Organization stressed that terrorism does not respect the sanctity of religions or homelands aiming to destabilize countries and harm people.
The statement added that shedding the blood of innocent people is one of the grievous sins that necessitates hatred of Allah; and Islam protects the lives of all people, as Allah said in the Holy Quran: “And slay not the soul God has forbidden, except by right.” [Q. 6: 151].
At the end of the statement, the Organization extended its condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, praying to spare the whole world the flames of intolerance, extremism, and terrorism.
